FOOD RULES
GROVE CITY STRAWBERRY DAYS IN THE PARK JUNE 6, 7, & 8, 2008 The Borough of Grove City is in agreement to host the 18th Annual Strawberry Days in Memorial Park. As a Planning Committee, we will do our best to pre-plan as many needs as possible. At the end of the event your suggestions on the response form will be very important. This is our “fourth year” in the park and we are continuing to make improvements to make this festival better for you and for the Strawberry Festival. The food tent will be placed at the same place as the past three years - on the right side of the loop that borders the high school. As in the past, we are eager to have the participation of as many non-profit groups as we can accommodate under the “food tent”. At this time we are planning on 22 sites so applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with no two foods alike.
This year we will allow you to sell cold soft drinks in your booths. The GC Chamber of Commerce will have their Chicken Barbecue on Thursday at 4:00 PM. Set-ups for the food booths will begin on Thursday, the 5th, at 5PM until dark and Friday morning starting at 8:00am. Hours of the festival are Friday and Saturday 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sunday 12 Noon to 4:00 PM. Because of limited lighting on the park grounds all events will conclude by 9 PM. Parking for the food booths will be available on the high school property near the tree line. You need to enter at the high school and follow the drive around and into the grassy area. Other alternate parking areas will be established in the event that wet weather makes it impossible to access the grassy area. Grove City High School Graduation will be on Friday June 6th this year but the area for the food booth parking will be reserved.
It is a MUST that you follow the rules concerning the electric at your booth. We are asking each participating group to carefully plan so that no unnecessary appliances are used. Specific electrical requirements are included in the attached letter. The Borough has agreed to make additional electrical improvements as needed. Please read the electric rules carefully and if you have any questions, please contact the Festival’s electrical helper, Jim McCarl.
There will not be an increase in the cost of the three-day event this year for each vendor, covering around the booth, and the electricity. Please complete the application and enclose a check for $110.00 payable to Grove City Strawberry Days. Retain a copy of the application for your records and return the original application to: Susie Lynn, 415 Madison Avenue, Grove City, PA 16127.
Food vendor acceptance agreements will not be sent out until after May l, but if there is any problem with the food item you chose, you will be contacted immediately. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact:
